Volkswagen Atlas Power and Performance Specs

All the new Atlas models have new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines that deliver up to 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The motors pair with automatic eight-speed transmissions and front- or optional all-wheel drive.

The Atlas also ensures good traction and ease of handling with selectable drive modes, which includes Comfort, Custom, Eco, Snow or Sport for models with front-wheel drive. All-wheel-drive models add an Off-Road mode. Equipping the vehicles with a tow package enables the Atlas SE to pull up to 2,000 pounds while the rest of the trim levels can tow up to 5,000 pounds through Boulder.

Volkswagen Atlas Exterior/Interior Design

For the new model year, all Atlas models have LED exterior lighting. Revised front ends have four-bar grilles framed on either side by vertically rectangular headlights. A series of daytime running lights frame each headlight array in a C-shape design. On upper trim levels, a light bar joins the daytime running light arrays at the top. The newly renovated front fascia features air intake vents framed by X-shaped architecture. Side views reveal a slight aerodynamic profile that ends in a rooftop spoiler. An elevated curve accented by a character line traverses across the full length of the SUV, which is mirrored on the lower door panels. Rear brake and taillight arrays form a rectangular pattern on the lateral sides, which are joined by a single illuminated bar.

The seven-passenger interiors feature upscale construction that ensure a quiet ride. Starting at the base SE level, cabins have synthetic leather upholstery with heated and ventilated front seats. The driver's seat is power-adjustable. SEL models boast upgrades like leather upholstery, power-adjustable front passenger's seat and heated second-row seats. SEL Premium R-Line vehicles have diamond pattern, quilted leather upholstery. Rear compartments behind the third-row seats provides 20.6 cubic feet of storage. The space expands to 55.5 cubic feet or 96.6 cubic feet when folding the third- and second-row seats.

Volkswagen Technological Amenities

Westminster drivers can look forward to the ease provided by keyless entry. In the SE w/ Technology trim, the remote engine start feature comes in handy to pre-warm the vehicle during brisk weather. The triple-zone automatic climate control system ensures that all passengers experience a comfortable ride.

The 10.25-inch digital cockpit provides drivers with up to four views providing vehicle information, navigation information and activated safety features. Standard infotainment systems have 12-inch touch screens and allow smartphone integration without the need for wires. Front-seat passengers have a wireless smartphone charging device. Adjustments to the infotainment system may be made using the touchscreen, steering wheel buttons or via voice commands. Four USB ports enable passengers to keep mobile devices powered.

Volkswagen Assist and Safety Features
